Valentine Flowers

It's not too late!  Close, but you still have time!

I have spent the last month browsing all these cute Valentines ideas and here it is just a day away and I guess it is time to get my butt in gear and get them done.  Nothing like waiting till the last minute!

This is what we made

I had the grand idea of making these fun Dum Dum Flowers from Family Fun

But when I got to my Walmart at 10 o'clock Saturday night  they were completely out of Dum Dum suckers.  HOW RUDE!  Since it was so late, I didn't want to go driving around town trying to find some.  So I improvised and we made these instead.

I used:

Lifesavers individually wrapped candies

SU! Sizzix Bigz L Fun Flowers Die

Big Shot

lots of paper scraps I had on hand

glue stick/glue dots

SU! Petals Punch for the leaf

The whole family got into making them, and we set it up assembly line style.

We used these 3 flowers from the Fun Flowers Die

Then stacked them on top of each other using a glue stick to adhere

I curled the edges of this flower just for the picture but there was no way I was going to do that to all 100+ flowers

Then used a glue dot on the back of the wrapped and candy and put it in the center of the flower and glued the leaf behind the flower.

I thought they turned out pretty cute for being very much last minute.  I think they would have been even cuter if I had made sure to coordinate all of the paper better.  But this was a great use for scraps plus I knew the kids would just take the candy off and throw the flowers away anyways.
